Plastic resin is the fundamental raw material for all plastic products, also known as plastic base material. It can be divided into virgin plastic resin and recycled PCR plastic resin by production source. Virgin plastic resin is made directly from petrochemical raw materials. It offers stable performance, pure color, and uniform physical properties. However, it has high production costs and causes large carbon emissions.

Recycled PCR plastic resin is processed from waste post-consumer plastic materials. After strict sorting, deep cleaning, impurity removal and granulation procedures, it reaches industrial usable standard. 

Common mainstream types include HDPE resin, PP resin, LDPE resin and PET resin.
